The Connection Practice

This Social Emotional learning program unites empathy and insight, strengthens resilience, and helps to change negative behaviors and increase positive feelings. The program structures relationships as concentric circles of connection, with the young person at the center. Each session develops the student's ability to identify and engage with their circles of connection. Students will be empowered and encouraged to intentionally connect and have more meaningful conversations.

Active Parenting Classes

Program series based on the age of a child. Three-to-6-week course once a week. (Certificate of Completion Available)

Birth to 5 years: A complete course to address basic skills for new parents, caregivers, and early childhood staff training.

Age 5 – Age 12: A comprehensive parenting program helping parents of kids ages 5 to 12 raise responsible, cooperative children who are able to resist negative peer pressure and thrive.

Age 11– Age 17: A comprehensive program to help parents through the often-tumultuous years of 11- 16. Each session also shows parents how to handle sensitive issues such as drugs, sexuality, and violence.

Teens in Action: A high-energy program for youth aged 11 to 16, teaching important life skills while helping them understand the dangers of risky behaviors such as alcohol and drug abuse.

Families in Action: A program designed to allow parents and teens to learn together, helping them to find common ground for conversation and problem-solving. Provides a unique approach to strengthening our youth against the daily risks they face.

Cooperative Coparenting through separation or divorce: This program helps separating parents shield their children from parental conflict. Parents learn to guide their children through the process of recovery while establishing a cooperative long-term relationship with the other parent.

Crossroads of Parenting and Divorce: A 4- to 6-hour seminar designed to prevent divorce abuse—a specific type of emotional abuse that divorcing parents cause when, in their anger and bitterness, they lose sight of their child’s needs.
